Dear Community Patrons,
We’re back to school! The school year has begun and Mountain View Montessori is beginning its 46th year serving children and families in the Reno/Sparks area. It is amazing to see our alumni returning as parents and walking their children through the hallways each day. It is an honor to be affiliated with such an outstanding educational institution.
Back to school means it is time to start planning our 19th annual auction, MVM’s largest fundraising event of the year. On Saturday, February 6, 2016, we will be hosting It Came From a Book. Literally, we’re going literary! Take your pick, classics, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, contemporary, sci-fi, urban, biographical, cultural, fables, fantasy, folklore, mythology, or legends. It will all be at the auction!
As a 501c3 non-profit organization, we depend on fundraising to subsidize our operating budget. Last year the funds raised through our annual auction helped us to provide over $300,000 in financial assistance to 65 students, maintaining economic diversity in our student enrollment. Fundraising resources also support continuing professional Montessori education for faculty and staff and the development of our facility and campus. These discretionary areas are an integral part of our core values; without them, the tremendous benefits they bring would be lost.
The tremendous support we receive from parents, friends, alumni, local businesses and organizations like yours make this an annual success. Last year we had over 225 attendees, with more than 200 local businesses contributing through donations, advertising, and table sponsorship's. I am certain MVM can have another successful event with your generous support! I hope you will consider a contribution this year.
When a student graduates from Mountain View Montessori, they do so with authentic independence, a love of learning, a strong work ethic, and a commitment of compassion to humanity and the environment. These children are our future citizens, leaders, and your future employees.
I can be reached directly at 775-852-6162 if you have any questions or would like to know more about our school. You are invited to take a tour so you can see first-hand the educational environment we provide. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
With sincere appreciation,
Head of School
